1977 Graduated from the Department of Physiotherapy of the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki Greece.
October 1992 I was awarded the title of Tutor/Coordinator Instructor on the Neuro-developmental / BOBATH Method, allowing me to teach NDT-Bobath courses worldwide.
September 2005 I was awarded from the European Bobath Tutors Association (EBTA) the title of Senior NDT-Bobath Tutor allowing me to train new NDT – Bobath Tutors worldwide.
2008 I was awarded the Ph.D. diploma from the University of Brunel at U.K. with the title «Long-term neuromotor outcome in full term infants with prolonged central sleep apnoeas». The PhD research study was conducted in the Department of Developmental Physiology of the Karl-Franzens University Graz Austria.
1977 till today I have successfully attended more than 20 different post graduate courses for training in different methods & techniques related to physiotherapy assessment and treatment (e.g. Mackenzie, PNF, Sensory Integration, Conductive education, Craniosacral therapy, Myofasial release, Kinesio Taping, Motor control & Motor learning and others)
OCCUPATIONAL ACTIVITIES
1977 till today Forty-one years is the total time of occupational activities on the subject of “physiotherapy intervention in patients suffering from CNS damage and especially in children suffering from Cerebral Palsy and other developmental disorders”.
Approximately 30 years of teaching at the Physiotherapy Department of the Technological Educational Institute of Thessaloniki Greece as a Professor of Physiotherapy and 1 year at the European University of Cyprus.
1992 till today Training – specialization of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy graduates and physicians in using the NDT- Bobath method internationally (Greece, Mexico, Argentina, Cyprus, Austria, Poland).
I was the leader Senior Tutor in more than 40 NDT-Bobath Basic courses, in more than 25 NDT-Bobath Baby courses and in more than 15 other courses related to Physiotherapy Assessment, Normal and Abnormal Human Movement, Typical and Atypical sensory motor Development, and other topics related to pediatric Neurorehabilitation.
1977 till today I have participated as invited lecturer in over 50 National and International congresses and symposia.
I have presented more than 20 Posters in National and International congresses and symposia. I have published three research papers having approximately 95 citations.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES:
Since 1992 Member of the American NDT – Bobath Association (NDTA).
Since 1992 Member of the European NDT – Bobath Tutors Association (EBTA).
1994 – 1996 President of the Greek NDT – Bobath Association
2006 – 2010 Member of the Executive Committee of the European NDT-Bobath Tutors Association.
